Women played a vital role in Adolf Hitler's plan to create an ideal German Community (Volksgemeinschaft). Hitler believed a larger, racially purer population would enhance Germany's military strength and provide settlers to colonize conquered territory in eastern Europe.

Women were expected to stay at home and look after the family. Women doctors, teachers and civil servants were forced to give up their careers. Even at the end of the war, women were never asked to serve in the armed forces.

Youth

World Book: Hitler Youth
Hitler Youth was an organization formed by Germany’s Nazi Party (the National Socialist German Workers' Party) in 1922. The organization trained and educated boys from the ages of 14 to 18 to become loyal followers of the Nazi Party, as well as future members of the German military.

In Nazi Germany in the 1930s, a secret plan was hatched to create a so-called Aryan Master Race of blonde-haired, blue-eyed children. While millions of genetic undesirables were eliminated, this elite was being bred to populate the new German Reich. This project, the brainchild of SS chief Heinrich Himmler, was called Lebensborn. Sixty-five years after World War II ended, this film reveals what has become of those who were born and stolen to become the new master race.

The population of Germany in 1933 was around 60 million. Almost all Germans were Christian, belonging either to the Roman Catholic (ca. 20 million members) or the Protestant (ca. 40 million members) churches. The Jewish community in Germany in 1933 was less than 1% of the total population of the country.

Adolf Hitler wrote these words in his book Mein Kampf (1926), in which he first advocated the use of propaganda to spread the ideals of National Socialism—among them racism, antisemitism, and anti-Bolshevism.

Nazism was “applied biology,” stated Hitler deputy Rudolf Hess. During the Third Reich, a politically extreme, antisemitic variation of eugenics determined the course of state policy. Hitler’s regime touted the “Nordic race” as its eugenic ideal and attempted to mold Germany into a cohesive national community that excluded anyone deemed hereditarily “less valuable” or “racially foreign.”

The main purpose and goal of the Nazi revolution was to establish a Volksgemeinschaft. Its creation required the purification and increase of the German “race” as well as its biological separation from the Jews, whose infusion of evil into the German bloodstream, the Nazis said, served to pollute and undermine Germany’s well-being.
