Character education for the 21st CenturyIn brief, it is not the intent of this paper to address the “How” of teaching character qualities, but rather the “What” of what those qualities ought to be. Here we provide a brief discussion of how they might be learned just to provide a concrete example for both in the classroom but also, critically, outside the classroom and even outside the school, which will challenge traditional education systems to cater to such needs via activities such as scouting, adventures such as Outward Bound, etc.
